Video Republic

Our article for this week is about YouTube and its influence on people in general and your generation specifically. As you read the article, think about how you personally fit the description. Go to the link below and read the article. Write a reflective comment that shows you have read the article, expresses your views, and addresses my questions.

The article claims that you are the YouTube generation. How true do you think that statement is? What is your reaction to the comparison of YouTube and the BBC? What is your prediction about the future of CVs and the incorporation of online in job applications? How should video blogs and online diaries be part of the school curriculum? Did you find the quantity of video being uploaded to YouTube to be surprising? How should politicians use online video? How should we use blogs in our class?

I think we are the internet generation because we (as in the younger generation)use the internet more than the older generations because we check our emails and go on games, download music and even chat with one another. We also blog comments or make videos and pictures and put it on the internet. We also use the internet for school assignments, unlike the older generation who used the library and books. My generation just goes straight to the internet for information. Also, the older generation uses the internet for work or email, not really for entertainment. That's it, it isn't as much as the younger generation.

When the article claims that we are the You Tube generation this means to me that we are the creators of You Tube in our generation. My reaction to this comparison was normal. My prediction to CVs and the incorporation of online job applications is that this idea is going to go down. This could teach students how to keep some of their personal things hidden from other people. I did not find the upload of videos on You Tube to be very surprising. I think politicians should not use online videos because a lot of people are already being black mailed and we definitely don't need politicians doing it too. I don't have a clue on how we should use blogs in our class.

I think the statement that we are the YouTube generation is very true. When I was little I used to always play on the Internet, but they were Disney games. My little sister does the same but she knows about YouTube. So our generation would be the YouTube generation. YouTube and BBC would kind of be the same except BBC isn’t found online, its on the television. Future CVs are probably going to be done online, vs an application sheet. I really don’t find the quantity of videos being uploaded to YouTube suprising. Politicians should use online video’s to promote their part in running. We should use blogs in our class to communicate with other students about the class.

This article claims that we are the YouTube generation. I think this is true because my generation clearly uses YouTube a lot. I was not surprises by the comparison of YouTube and BBC because, most of the people these days spend most of their time online and the most famous website online in my opinion is YouTube. I think Future CV’s will probably be posted online and incorporation of online job applications will be a success, since most people spend their time online or on the Internet these days. Video blogs and online diaries should be used as discussion boards in schools; in which people post articles about the topic they are studying in school. The quantity of video being uploaded to YouTube was not surprising to me because, logically a website with millions of users should have big numbers of downloading and uploading. Politicians should use online videos for help in their campaigns. We should use blogs in our class for posting interesting articles rather than commenting on articles.

I belive, as a child who has watched many videoes and experiance with Youtube, that videoes on Youtube is a great idea since as long as the videoes are in reason. For example, the killer among video games are leaks from games in the process. These videoes can be put on Youtube. Other examples are hackers. People who live in an isolated country learn skills like hacking of the internet. There are also some good uses like how one of my friends learnt how to play guitar of the internet.

I think that it is true that we are the You Tube generation, that is because mostly everyone in our generation uses You Tube, and websites like that, more than wait for it to come on television if it ever will. What is more, we use the internet for almost everything in our lives, for example we play games, watch videos, movies, pictures, listen to music, and even get information for our researches. Plus I think that many people use the internet for information on some subjects, more that they research in books. Now the older people do use the internet, for example mothers use it to find food recipe, and other information that they care about, and men use the internet for business, and other things considering their jobs. However I don't think that many people use the internet for entertainment.

I find that it is true that we are the youtube generation. I personally go on You Tube daily and can spend from 1-6 hours on it. I'm not surprised by the comparison of You Tube and BBC because most people spend the majority of their time online and You Tube is one of the most popular. I find CVs are most probably going to end up online rather on paper. We should be able to make video blogs and online diaries in school. No, I don't find the quantity of video being uploaded to You Tube surprising, because millions of people are on all the time, and it's the new way to express yourself. Many artists are even making job interviews over the Internet for personal assistants. You Tube is an advantage to our society and should be used more often in schools.

I think that it's true, we are the You Tube generation. Almost every teenager that has access to the internet has seen a You Tube video while a large percentage of us have uploaded videos ourselves. It doesn't surprise me that people would rather watch entertaining You Tube videos rather than watching informative BBC videos. Recently I have heard that many universities and businesses research in coming students and employees before they accept students or hire employees. I think this will continue to be a strategy for many universities and businesses for years to come. A great way to incorporate online videos into a school curriculum would be assigning students projects that require them to create their own videos. I did not find the number of videos being uploaded to You Tube to be surprising. I think politicians should show campaign ads in online videos. I think we should use blogs in our class to post interesting articles amongst each other.

For at least the kids of countries like the US and UK, we are the YouTube generation because we are so influenced by what is put on the web. I am actually surprised that the BBC has as many visitors as it does, but the YouTube figures don't surprise me. Probably well over half of teenagers use YouTube, whereas only a small group of news-reading adults would regularly check BBC. As the internet continues to expand in size and popularity, I think that it is inevitable that at some point CVs would be incorporated into job apps. This blog here in Computer class is part of the school curriculum, and it seems to work quite well. As an active YouTube user, I have seen the amount of video uploaded and I am not surprised at the numbers. If it is to their benefit, I think that politicians have every right to use YouTube and the internet. Here in Computer Literacy, we use blogs in a good way, to give us a perspective of the technology world outside of what we study in class.

I think that we are the You Tube generation because we rely on You Tube for many things including watching music videos, science videos, and sometimes even math videos to help us with our studies. I think the statement made about us being the You Tube generation is very true. I think that in a CV of the future you will need to write about your history with the internet. A blog is good for school because it helps students communitcate and they can compare things, which we are doing now. I did not find the quantity of the videos being uploaded to You Tube being weird because it is not surprising at all, people upload many videos a day. Blog in our class is also important it helps us compare and contast our ideas, it also helps uss actively read.

I agree that we are the Internet age. We use the Internet for absolutely everything. We talk through it, add a lot of information about ourselves onto it, and find as many uses as possible. I personally think that someone who is going to give you a job should not go and look at everything that you have ever put online. If your Facebook account was hacked, you might not get a job because of what someone else wrote. You may also have put something on the Internet when you were younger and were unaware of the future reprocussions.

I do think that our generation is the youtube generation. Most people have a clear idea what youtube is and most people from our generation occasionally use youtube. I think youtube is a cool way to send information like school assignments it forces people to experience the internet more and youtube. youtube is agreat way to share ideas, talents or interests, and have people comment on the video itself it's a very creative and simple design that most people from our generation have used.

I think that i have watched lots of videos on you tube and some videos are inappropriate and some aren't. like some videos have people getting very badly hurt and being very badly treated. some videos have full episodes of some series that they have which the company's don't like
