The Deep Web

Searching for information on the Web is a common practice. Most people rely upon Google when they search, believing that it can find anything. But can it? This week’s article looks at the challenges that search engines face in trying to find information in the Deep Web. Go to the link below and read the article. Write a reflective comment that shows you have read the article, expresses your views, and addresses my questions.

What kinds of Deep Web content would you find useful in your life, either now or in the future? What is your opinion about Google’s search results format? How would you modify it to include Deep Web content? How important will accessing Deep Web content be in the future?

Types of Deep Web content that I would find useful are few, because really, I could live without the internet. So it is not too important to me, all I want is the Surface Web. But, some Deep Web content that could possibly be helpful to me now or in the future are things such as travel information, tickets available, etc… Or if I’m living in the UK then I could use things like trains to different places, and which trains would get me there faster, how much they would cost, etc… I think that Google’s search results format is efficient, I don’t understand why people should criticize it. The way the information is displayed is quite clear, and upon using it, it is fast and usually accurate. Also, I think that searching on the Surface Web is okay for Google because it is simply a search engine, for deeper information, more would be already known since it’s so specific, therefore people should know some sites to go to or begin their search with. I think that in the future, as things get more sophisticated, and everyday life gets more detailed, Deep Web access will be extremely important, and that most people will rely on that to get their information and to find out things about flight details, businesses, and many other things that are found on databases found on the Deep Web. I honestly think that Deep Web is going to keep expanding though, so I’m not sure how much of it will be available because as it expands, the less we know about it because it has gotten so big.

The types of Deep Web content that I would find useful in my life either right now or in the future are not that many, as in order to obtain such “little” and “picky” details, I would simply rely on the people I know. However, if I ever needed the internet for such content it would probably be for things such as finding the location of a certain place, such as a restaurant or specific information for a concert that I plan to attend, such as its time, ticket costs and its exact location. I could also use the Deep Web to find specific flight details and any changes concerning a flight that I am expecting (like the delaying of it or its early arrival) or information on the latest findings concerning a certain disease. In my opinion, Google’s search results format is excellent as it is, due to the fact that even though Google has not yet “majored” in the topic of Deep Web content, it has done so when it comes to its Surface Web content, which is why the majority of the people use this search engine. When people visit Google, most of the time it is for academic purposes where Google can be very helpful. Otherwise, a person could visit Twitter, for instance, and obtain the “insignificant” details they desire. When I use Google, I find that everything is right in front of me and I automatically find all the sites that I need on the first results page. On the other hand, though, I would modify Google to include Deep Web content by forming a team that could “crawl” the internet and act like spiders themselves and find links to such information. Furthermore, people should not sole rely on the internet when they need specific information concerning a certain topic; they should already have a good idea of what is available on their topic and then use search engines, such as Google and Yahoo to locate specific information concerning their topic. Moreover, accessing Deep Web content will be extremely important in the future, due to the fact that our status as a “technically advanced world” keeps on increasing and becoming better day by day and in the future, people will find themselves in need of such information, unlike today. Additionally, in the future Deep Web content will probably be a major part of people’s social, academic, physical and economic lives and they will most likely need this sort of information in order to “survive” and succeed. Last, but not least, I man sure that most of the main search engines that are out there today will focus much of their energy for the time being toward increasing their Deep Web content “credentials” and remaining strong.

Some kinds of Deep Web content that I would find useful in my life, which are now and in the future, are reserving for airplanes, restaurants, hotels, VIP parties, important events around the world, and many other things. I think that all of those things would be really useful but sometimes when you call the number from the web site you are looking at, the person the you are calling tells you information that is different from the website and the website would be wrong so you would need to double check. I think that the Google results format is really good because it is detailed with the URL of the site, more information from what you searched, translating the language of the page to whatever language you want, making an advanced search, and also you can have pages from your own country. Accessing Deep Web content will be important in the future because the Deep Web will be more detailed and have much more useful information, because Deep Web are most probably going to become better in the future, like everything is becoming more advanced around the internet.

I think that reserving for restaurants and airline tickets online is very useful for some people. Me, myself I don’t like doing that. I don’t like that Google gives you everything that has the words you typed in. I would modify it by making it more accurate and less searches. I think deep web will be very useful in the future and now because it will make things easier and faster.

The deep web contents that I would find useful right now or in my future are booking for airplane tickets, reserving restaurants, and hotels. But those websites cannot be reliable because sometimes they may tell you different things that are not true. I think that the Google result format is useful and good because it gives you many information and details for example like an advanced search that gives you more information than your usual search. I think that deep web will be very useful for now and the future because it gives you many detailed information, and advanced searches will become more common in the future.

Being that it’s so detailed, I could be able to do various things with this new technology. I could ask for specific directions to a restaurant, or look for the lowest prices to some place on the most reliable airline. I think that Google’s search format will work for now. People are already wanting more, and it won’t be long before it’s just a mandatory piece of everyday life. I’d modify it by just making a button for changing it on you computer- not ‘Felling Lucky?” but “Deep Web.” It’ll become more and more important and more and more stuff is added to the web that matches you search – you’ll need one within the thousands of websites that the search engine returns with.

I don’t seem to find Deep Web content useful for me at this age and time. In the future however, when I go to college, I'm most likely going to end up alone in a place I'm not familiar with. This is where the so called Deep Web would come in handy. I would be able to find a lot of the little details that would be hard to find with a normal search engine. I would find transportation methods, how much they cost, were to obtain, and so on. It will also help me find restaurants or concerts around me. I think Google's search result format is really good. Even though it still isn’t really helpful finding Deep Web content, it still is extremely useful in other areas. Modifying Google to help find Deep Web content is a challenge. I would change the way it finds websites, from matching words to matching ideas. Personally I don’t think accessing Deep Web content will be any more important in the future.

I think that because so many people can write whatever they want and then never touch it, there must be tons and tons of deep web that is just so unuseful and unnecessary. I bet you there are only about 5-6 thousand sites that are commonly visited around the world and the rest of the billions and billions of sites are never viewed or rarely viewed.
Obviously you can't find anything you want using a search engine- restricted pages- hidden information or sites that havent any relevance to your search but do to your query. It would be nice though if search engines did the thinking for you instead of giving you pages to look at, and maybe if the future search engines can do that I would use it. For example if somebody types in a question, instead of giving lists of website that may have the answer, the search engine finds the answer and says the lowest fare from New York to London is on PANAM flight UL1283
. Thankfully, I am smart enough that I know how to use a search engine and be happy with the sites that it gives me. Again if I could modify it, it would be so that I could get direct answers from a search engine just by typing in the question. In all honesty though I really don't think that using the deep web will make much of a difference in the future because most people are content with the results that they get just by doing a normal, surface web search.

The deep technology that’s on the Internets helps us a lot these days; instead of calling someone you could use the Internet. What I would use now in m life is like reserving for restaurants or air plains through their websites. I would also use this technology for reservations in hotels, so that you can get there. You can find this sort of information on the web or using a surface web, personally I used Google search because usually the first one is usually it but is still try to find what I need.

I would find some Deep content useful, in that sites that have useful snippets of facts about whatever I am looking for. Also, to make online reservations at a restaurant or airline would also be very useful, as it would be quick, efficient, and effective. Also, buying electronics or tickets online would also be the kind of content I'm interested in, as it would save time and money. I think that Google's search format is great as it is, as it already provides useful information about your topic on a consistent basis, and arranges them t how they match your keywords, which is very useful. The only way that I think that it could be made better is if it searched based solely on important keywords, instead of every word that you typed in. But I think that it is still a great format as is, and there is not many ways to improve it. To modify it, I would include a search button that browsed the sites written by professionals, or people who have much knowledge on the topic. And another button where it searches the entire web, to get a more complete understanding of the topic. As time progresses, the deep web will be growing in importance, as more and more sites are added with more and more information, that in the future the Deep Web will increase in size, so much that even the most basic search can yield thousands upon thousands of highly related websites with valuable information.

Some Deep Web content that I find useful in my life is medical research, flight schedules. I would rely on real life experts to answer my questions for me rather than taking the content from the web, as it might be inaccurate. I think I could use this in the future when I’m a businessman as I might check online for the times my flights take off. I think the Google search results are very accurate and people should not criticize it, as it is a very effective way to find what you are looking for through the Internet, it gives you more than one result of what you are searching and the results are almost always accurate. Modifying it to include Deep Web content would be hard because it would change the way the system works, and it would change how it would search. I could modify it to include Deep Wed content by typing in the question. I don’t think Deep Web content would be important in the future.

Well I don’t really know, reserving things online, or buying things online is really useful for now and the future, or even looking at a TV channel’s program.
I honestly don’t really like Google’s search results format, it gives too much information at once, and sometimes I doesn’t even give you the information you were looking for. I think they should just re-check the sites they give for each information, even if it’s a lot of work, I think it’s really worth it.
I don’t think there will be any problems, it’ll be just like now, easy and quick

I find deep web content useful for a few people. I think that Google's search is like the best. It's related to Deep Web Content because they are search engines. It will be as popular as Google.
