Go to the link below and read the article. Write a reflective comment that shows you have read the article, expresses your views, and addresses my questions.

As you read the article, which of the threats that were mentioned have you heard of? Why do you think people do things like attacking other people’s accounts? This article is important to me since i use Facebook alot. Koobface is a worm that my cousin told me about which was first made in Russia by hackers. There are many reasons to why people attack other people's accounts. Some people try to steal money, some like to show off, and some have personal reasons. Until now i don't know anyone who has been attacked on Facebook, but i know that people are being attacked oftenly.

If i was to be attacked i would know before time. When i open Facebook i see many cheap links which are obviously going to trick me into a virus. So basically i don't click on them. But in the end these are problems that go in a cycle, in other words more viruses are developed and used against Facebook then Facebook finds a solution for it. So it is an ongoing cycle.

I never got hacked before in facebook. I can't understand why the hackers hack. Some people say they just want to steal money, but not many people is really stupid enough to tell their credit card number and stuff. Also why do they want to send viruses and worms to other people? They don't earn any money for doing that or nobody is paying them for doing that.

Even if hacker send worms and stuff, many people have anti virus software that might block the worm that hackers are trying to send.

personally i've been hacked before but never on Facebook. Facebook is a huge website and im surprised that if a normal person can easily hack into a person's account why hasn't facebook upgraded their security program. i personally don't understand why people hack into other peoples' accounts. maybe there bored, maybe there out for revenge but all in all i find it pathetic.

i think that its are unessesery to have hackers. Hackers are very stupid to attack facebook when they can hack to get information from the government but,why attack facebook. People will feel unsafe to talk and show each other pictures and things.

I think that hackers are stupid, i mean whats so great about hacking. The good thing is that Facebook has contained the worm but i think its a lie. My friend had to create a new account three times because his account was hacked. i Think hackers do it because they think it is cool or they earn money for it, but i always wonder can't the police track down a hacker?

I've heard of many attacks on Facebook and I was almost a victim myself. Recently, a friend of mine had their account hacked when he clicked a link a friend sent him. All of a sudden his account starting sending wall posts to other accounts with the dangerous link attached. I think people do this to either learn credit card numbers, or for personal pleasure. It shocks me to know that there are people out there who hack and create misery for hundreds of people just so they can enjoy themselves. Staying safe isn't very difficult either. I never click on any links that any of my friends send me because that is how my friend's account was hacked.

I don't believe that Facebook would be "the" target for hackers atleast not as much as MySpace would. I've seen so many people be hacked rather than Facebook. Who even knows why we all get hacked most people are just either bored out of their minds or are really nosey. A way to prevent being hacked is to make up really stupid passwords, ones that don't make sense, or change your password often.

This article is informative in a good way. It warns us (Facebook users) that Facebook is not entirely safe and virus-free. It also warns us not to click on links without first making sure that they don't hae viruses or worms. If these worms and viruses do succeed to get to a larger number of Facebook users, they could spread more rapidly and, in the long term, could cause Facebook to have to close down. I think that the course of action that has been taken (taking hackers to court) is the right one.

I have never heard of these viruses or worms before. I personally have never been hacked or anything like what this article talks about, because I just made a facebook file about two weeks ago. I think people do these kind of attacks, because they are either trying to get attention, or they were badly raised. I don't recall having any friends who have been attacked or meeting anybody. I wouldn't know how to recognize an attack, but if I ever do find out that I am being attacked I will call a friend or a parent.

I have heard of most of the threats that were mentioned. My computer had been attacked by a virus sent in a chain letter to my mom by her friend. As soon as it was opened it automatically sent the message with the virus to all of her contacts.

I have no clue why people would want to hack into other people's account. How would it benefit them? Maybe, they are bored and sad, and find it funny to post things on other people's accounts.

In my old school many people had their email hacked and My Space attacked. Mostly, they were hacked by their friends who thought it would be funny to scare them by leaving threatening messages or deactivating their accounts.

The reality is you can't avoid chain letters with viruses or people wanting to hack the only thing you can do is take precautions. The first step would be to get Norton Anti Virus to detect attacks from viruses and prevent them. The second thing you should do is keep your user safe by making up random passwords that nobody would guess. If you do get hacked change your password or make a new user, because often people stay hacking the same user

This article made me notice that even though facebook is a very safe site. It shows and warns of the possibilities that can happen. This si problem that can be stopped or will only get bigger. The hackers are ruining facebook for lots of users. What is the point about hacking?

I've heard of hackers and hacking but never on Facebook. I always thought the main issue with Facebook was with kidnappers. Like they always do, I think hackers are attacking accounts just for malignant purposes, as well as to be noticed. I think hackers also want to make people scared and want to make people think that they are a menace. Although I have a Facebook, I am not very into it or protective of it. It has never been attacked, but I have heard rumors from others, whether true or untrue, of their accounts being hacked. If I could not for some reason log into Facebook, I would begin to become suspicious. I would then view my profile just to see if anything had changed. If it had, I would announce to my friends that my account had been hacked and that I no longer had control of it. But I am not as concerned about hacking because Facebook isn't a primary concern of mine. Others would probably care more than I do.
