Having a mobile phone makes it easy to communicate with friends and other people. However, roaming fees are a nuisance and they can be expensive. This week’s article is about the actions of one company to address this problem and, in doing so, attract customers. Go to the link below and read the article. Write a reflective comment that addresses my questions and expresses your opinion about the article.
How much are you and the people you know affected by roaming charges? Will Zain’s decision make a difference in the number of subscribers that they attract? Would it cause you to change service providers? The program director for Zain states in reference to roaming charges that “It is something that should be replaced by more innovative stuff.” What innovations would you initiate if you were in charge of the company? What do you think will happen to mobile phone service on a global scale?

We, as a family, are affected a lot by roaming charges because almost all our aunts and uncles live outside of Jordan and we keep in touch a lot! I believe that Zain’s decision will make a difference in the number of subscribers that they will attract. I believe so because nowadays people travel a lot on business trips, honeymoons, family vacations, etc. When they do, they call their family and friends telling them how they are; that call costs a lot. It wouldn’t cause me to change my service providers because I’m with Zain. If I did have another service provider, I would definitely change it to Zain. If I were in charge of this company, I wouldn’t change a thing about it because it’s a great company. In my opinion, I think mobile phone service on a global scale will change a lot because of this roaming thing.
Roaming charges don’t affect me a little, because I have a VOIP phone to call anyone out of this country. I think it will make a difference to the people that do have trouble with roaming charges. Well to be honest, I wouldn’t change companies because I am going to leave Jordan after I graduate High school. I can’t think of any new innovations other than what they are doing now. I think what Zain is doing will boost their subscribers and will attract other companies to do it.
Roaming charges don't really affect me or my family that much because when my sister and I leave the country, we don't call but text if it's important and my dad isn't affected by the charges as well. However, Zain will most likely get alot of new customers do to their very smart decision and that will more than make up for roaming charges that they have lost. I don't see a need to change service providers because since they took away the roaming charges, that will be good for me when I travel to certain countries. i don't see anything wrong with Zain at the time so I would not change anything about it. The no roaming charges will most likely change the mobile world and more phone companies might drop roaming charges as well.
wooksoon///We are not affected by roaming charges. Yes, Zain's decision will change the number of subscribers they attract because many people who travel alot will join Zain. No, I don't travel a lot and I don[t make long distance phone calls, so it doesn't make a differnce to me. The innovations that I would start if I were in charge of the company would be: to give discounted rates to students and free minutes between family members. I think that due to globalization, long distance call between countries will become like local calls.
I believe that a lot of the people I know and my family are very affected by roaming calls. Yes I think that Zain’s customers might even double.
Yes it might change my service contract. I would make a video call service (3G).The global market might make the prices of the phones increase.
Me, as a person, I am affected a lot by roaming charges because I travel a lot and my dad is constantly out of town, and I usually try to call him! I believe that Zain’s decision will make a huge difference in the number of subscribers that they will gain. I am currently subscribed to another carrier service and I think I am going to switch to Zain because of their offer.
Roaming charge affects me a lot because my most of relatives are in Korea, There will be something important thing to connect me in Korea. In my opinion Zain will make a difference to the people who need the roaming. Because today many business man go through the world. NO, I will not change the service providers. Because I have to use it when I travel or go back to my country.
I don't think new company changes a lot. But I hope to tell people who call me, I'm in this country.
I think it will grow to big scale all over the world.
Coming from my knowledge, I think us as a family are very affected by roaming charges, because my relatives/dad are always out of town and we try to keep in touch with them all the time. Yes, I believe that it will make a difference not because of their decisions, but because of the new people coming to invest in Jordan. It wouldn’t cause me to change my subscription because I am currently with Zain. If I were in charge of the company the only thing I would change is the signal, I would try to make it stronger. I think they will change big time because of the new features they are adding and the new technology that’s happening around us.
I get charged a lot while roaming. I doubt that they actually can, that’s if they have the power to do it. Yes I do agree that you can change the service providers I would help Zain get more members and try to get more important stuff to get Zain a popular roaming company. It think it will be pretty good because in the future it will someday be popular and useful.
Personally I don't think Zains prices for roaming is going to make a difference in my family's case because were smarter than Zain and most people because we use skipe instead but for the people who do use Zain I think this will really affect their overall phone bill because everyone has to call long distance every once in a while, and for the people who don't have Zain I think it would be a worthy investment to get it
