The Japanese government is proposing a new law that will affect the Internet in Japan. This week’s article provides information about what the law will do and how it will change Internet use in Japan. Go to the link below and read the article. Write a reflective comment that addresses my questions and expresses your views.
How much influence do you think the new law will have on Internet use in Japan? Do you agree with the government’s position or with the critics of the new law? Why do you feel that way? If you were an Internet user in Japan, how would you deal with the changes that this law will make? What do you think about the mobile-services filtering that is already in place in Japan?

To me I don’t think that their new law would have a lot of influence on the Japanese internet users. When it comes to me I don’t agree with the neither, I think they just should leave the internet as it is now, however I do think that the government should have some control over the internet for security reasons, but they shouldn’t be looking at what the users links and URL’s are because that would be something that no one would like at the same time it would be rude. If I was an internet user I would stop using the internet because I don’t have the right to use the internet, according to the article the “users under 18 are forbidden to use the internet” and if I was a person over 18 that would like to learn more about politics and more about religion he wouldn’t be able to do that because of the mobile-services filtering which is wrong and shouldn’t be done.
I don’t think that there will be a lot of influence on the Internet use in Japan. I don’t agree with the government's law. I feel that the government should not have any control over the Internet. I wouldn’t mind the problem. I believe the mobile service filtering is wrong because it shouldn’t block "religion" and "politics".
I don't have any friends who have ever had a bug when trying to delete their account. The officer manager's reaction was appropriate because he had his own right to not let anyone else see his website. Well, I don't use facebook so I don't really care, but I have tried creating an account and the email confirmation button hasn't worked. Beacon should not be used because it is an evasion of privacy. People should be concerned about their privacy because it's in everyone nature to do something that is not right to do.
They shoulden't pass this law because it is basically taking away the rights of whatever it is people want to do on the internet. The government is controlling the people of Japan and what they do. However, they could control parts of the internet if it is for safety reasons, but if it's not, then what's the point? If Iwas an internet user in Japan I would be furious that people are monitoring what I am doing. It would be like they are taking my rights away one thing at a time. They way that I would most likely deal with this problem is that I would just do nothing.
The mobile filtering in Japan is just ridiculous though, they should just miond their own businuss.
In my opinion, the influence I think the new law will have on the Internet is not much. The government already controls every single bit of Japan. And now it wants to control the Internet. I agree with the government’s position, but I also agree with the critics. If the government is controlling all of Japan and making it better in a lot of ways, there should be things like the Internet, which should and shouldn’t be controlled.
If I were an Internet user in Japan, I wouldn’t mind about the changes of the Internet with his new law. Also, I disagree with Shannon; I don’t really care if people monitor what I’m doing because it’s for my own and others’ safety. Although I like the idea of the government controlling the Internet, I don't like the idea of mobile filtering. I find it pretty stupid!
Wooksoon////// I think the new law will affect Japan very much. Because filtering is seeing the personal information, there will be much change in our life. I agree with critics' opinion. Because, controling the internet means we lose our privacy in using the internet and I will not feel free. I will be against to the law. Because, I don't want to lose my right to the privacy. I think the filtering of mobile -services is over react of the Japan.
PHONES i couldn't care less about. But filtering out the Internet is just stupid I know it might be a good idea to make sure that younger children or just underage people don't see bad content but that's why they have a rental guidance control on the Internet so the parents to make sure that the children don't see certain site. The Japanese government has no right to filter out websites that underage children may or may not be looking at. And if I was in Japan I'd seew for taking away a Internet rights. Let's come on it's not like the Internet's going to pull a gun on me.
The new law does not concern me, i am American not Japanese. I don't agree with either. Because it doesn't concern me. I would strike back with an army of clones. I don't keep up with the news and so I don't care about anything except myself and friends.
The influence I have on the new law on the Internet in Japan is that it will cause problem around Japan and people will dislike what the people are doing to the Internet in that region. I do not agree with the government however I do agree with the critics I feel that way because the government isn’t doing anything in this problem and the critics are doing something about it. If I were an Internet user in Japan I would go to the government to do something about this problem to make this problem a big deal and that everyone in Japan will not like it. I think the mobile-services filtering is not a good idea in Japan.
